Tintswalo Safari Lodge in a Nutshell

Day 51 - 20th June 2013 (TREC 1000)

Three of the BIG 5 on foot.... one day.

This ele had a good think about whether to 'mock charge' or do it for real. Animals are like us... they have bad days too, and we encountered him on one of his.

Day 49 - 18th June 2013 (TREC 1000 Rhino on foot...)

It's so very exciting to be close and with no vehicle when viewing these living dinosaurs. True, their poor eyesight conceals & blurs you in their vision, but... an excellent sense of smell and really keen hearing means they will as often as not approach you to investigate 'what' you are. Those encounters will have the heart pumping and adrenaline racing: truly memorable.

It's an absolute MUST that we ensure the rhino survives.

Day 35 - 4th June 2013 (TREC 1000 - Rudi Venter)

Rudi Venter has made an invaluable contribution to the efforts of TREC.

Utilising unpaid leave, he gave up his time and (much) loved ones to lend his experience, knowledge & deep love of the African bush to help save our ancient rhino from an unnecessary extinction.
